Moving & storage

Know what’s in every box before you open it.

Label boxes as you pack, photograph what goes in, and search the whole move from your phone. At the other end, unpack into the new rooms and KindlyQR keeps track of what went where.

Labelled boxes carried from a van into a new house.

How it works

Pack once. Never open the wrong box again.

  1. 1 Set up the places

The old house, the new house, the storage unit.

Make a location for each place, then add boxes as you pack them. Free covers one location; Plus ($49 a year) adds as many as the move needs.

  2. 2 Label every box

A QR label on each box.

Print a box’s label on any printer and tape it to the side. Boxes can go inside other boxes or on shelves, the way you’ll really stack them.

  3. 3 Photograph what goes in

A photo as each thing goes in.

Take a picture as you pack and KindlyQR names the thing and files it in the box. Things that come in sets keep a count.

  4. 4 Find it

Search the move, or scan the box.

Type “kettle” and see which box it’s in and where that box is. Point your phone at a label to see what’s inside without opening it; only people you’ve shared the move with can see it.

  5. 5 Unpack

    Unpack into the new rooms.

Move things from the box to where they now live, one at a time or several at once. Each move is kept in the item’s history.

Questions

Before you pack.

Do I need special labels?

No. A box’s label prints on an ordinary page with any printer; tape it to the side of the box.

Can family or helpers see the boxes?

Yes. Share the move to look at or to edit; people you invite join free. A label shows the box to people you’ve shared it with; anyone else who scans it sees a sign-in page.

Can I find something without the label?

Yes. Everything is searchable by name, box and place, from any phone or computer.

How much can I track for free?

300 items in one location, with 50 photo scans a month. Plus ($49 a year) removes both limits, so the old house, the new one and a storage unit can all be in it.

What happens after the move?

The inventory stays. It becomes your home inventory: search it, share it and keep adding as you unpack.
